Hi Donna - it's going fine, I hope. I've learned that I should join Candlers Anonymous because it's addictive seeing the little chicks moving around in the shells. Out of 25 eggs, there are about 17 that I think are still viable. I only had 4 EE eggs, and I don't think any of them are going to make it, but I don't trust my candling knowledge enough right now to decide definitey and remove them from the incubator. There is one Welsummer egg that is too dark for me to see anything inside it. Hatch day is next Monday - so just a little over a week to wait. My DH asked me if I wanted to go with him on a business trip that week. I said, WHAT??? Don't think so! After all this, there's no way I'm going to miss hatching day.
What have you got in the bator on lockdown now? Anybody else got the bator going?
These are my Barred blue and black rocks and barred ee. I put all the eggs in lockdown if I was in any doubt. As long as they don't smell give them a chance since we don't know what we are doing
I would hate to toss a viable egg because I don't know what to look for yet.
I am working on my next batch, Blue and Black Marans from Raven1 and maybe
some lavender ameraucanas
to go with my lav splits. SOOOOOOOOO EGGCITED!!!!! This is tooooo addictive! I have joined incubators anonymous on here but they are no help....
I will let you know when i have some olive egger eggs coming. Breeding pens are needed!
