Tracy - I'm so sorry about your dog, and I sure hope that you can get her back immediately. There are some very bad people in the world.

Hiya Donna. Thank you so much. I am 4.5 miles past the Cheatham Co. High toward Clarksville. I'm on Macon Wall Road off of Hwy 12. Roads nearest to me are, Lockertsville, Water Valley, Noah Reeves, Saddle Tree. I'm in the Chapmansboro/Cheap Hill community. Bella is not a wanderer, otherwise I wouldn't be so worried. I only have 20 acres and walked that today in case some dumb*ss missed a turkey and got her with a bow, but didn't see anything, thank goodness. I walked up and down the road and didn't find a trace of her. The farthest she's ever gone is into my neighbor's cattle field and forgets how she got in, and can't find her way out. No biggy... I just hop the fence and snatch her back. But I'm really worried that someone stole her.

Thanks Carol. I'll keep searching as long as possible. I found a website that has a pet "Amber Alert". I might give it a try if nothing happens from the flyers in the next day or two.

I know that area. I lived in AC for nearly 20 yrs. till I got married 4 yrs ago.

Robin, I would like to hatch out a batch of my own silkies, but not for awhile, until Ive learned more and have a better 2nd coop for them. I would just keep the eggs for the time being. I have to say, I looked at your website and I think your silkies are prettier. Im not sure if its just more fluff or what! Are yours bearded?
I dont think this lady in L'burg typically sells her silkies. But she just got overcome with too many I guess. She listed them on craigslist and the ad is still there from Sept 11th.

ANyhow, the only thing Im not thrilled about is that these two girls are not trained at all and wont come near me even with treat in hand. I suppose with patience and time they will warm up to me. I cant believe how much I adore them! My family thinks Im nuts.

I found her ad. I'm going to contact her to see if she'd mind me sending folks her way if I don't have anything available for sale.

I think that might have been you that emailed me looking for females only just recently. I wish there was some magic wand I could wave and declare that all but one chick be a female but so far I haven't found one. I had one girl hatch out nothing but boys in my d'Uccle pen. Its like come on, give me a break here.

I'm glad to see you had a pretty good hatch even this late in the season. I have 12 of 18 at 9 days old now and they already have some wing tip feathers comming in. These are my best looking chicks so far this year. Let me know what you come out with on sexes if you don't mind. We can always do some swapping when I get some from the second Roo.

Well yes these are your G'babies I forgot that! I ended up with 13 fat, healthy peeps! Anyway to tell sex before feathers come in? I know its easy once they start to feather but was hoping. I do love the Dark Brahmas the hens are some of the prettiest patterned birds! The leg and toe feathering on these guys are outstanding! Of course we all know my first love is still and will be my Marans (before someone gives me grief) but gotta love the DB girls!
