The Middle Tennessee Thread

So I'm still fightin' off the urge to hatch a couple emu eggs. Now that they are in season it's worse. Have any of you had them before? I say I'll hatch it and sell it after it's knee high or so, but if I know me, I'll end up keeping it. Would any of ya'll want one?

Not me.... but I do have a funny about emu's.

We had friends that had emus and they gave us some emu jerky. So I asked my 7-8 son "Do you know what Emu is?" "Yeah" "what?" "It is that stuff between cow's toes."

Thanks for the pics! It looks like he has gotten a nice dark, clear buff. How did his buffs place?

Congrats on your wins! That is awesome!

The other day I met a guy named Wayne that knows you. I think he said he got his silkies from you. I sold him some ameraucanas and a couple of wheaten marans. He was super nice. We had a lovely conversation about how cool you are!

We have one pullet trying to get Merecks but so far it's real mild so hopefully it won't get very much worse and she will bounce out of it.
Donna-Our Co-op has it as well if Edwards is out..was just in both today but I forgot to look.
Sad news on Bunny front..Ethan's black orphan baby died over night.Thought they were old enough to be out of the woods but apparently not.He was fine when he had his hugs and kisses last night so a very sad little boy this morning.

Oh before I forget...we are hatching tonight

Cutie Pie had some pips this evening so all her time served will hopefully be chirping in the morning They will either be pure bantam Cochin or Bantam Cochin/Bantam Ameraucana so cute either way.

So just a general question... What do you guy sell reg chick for at various ages? I was thinking 2.50-3 for day olds but after that I am clueless. I think POL are usually about $10 the middle that is what I am missing. And if you know they are pullets do you still sell straight run or just charge more?

Been busy working on some A-frame pens and finally finished them up today,

I think they are going to real nice. Two hold a roo and five hens of Americanna bantams and one has ten young wyandotte bantams. They are the tractor type meant to be moved around but I will proably leave mine staionary. They should get a good test tonighht with 1-3 inches of rain forecast!
