The Middle Tennessee Thread

I bought all kinds of cheese making products early in the summer and then ran out of time to make it.

I would love to do it as a group project one day. I can bring supplies!

Emmalynn- I keep telling you that you need to offer classes! We would all jump on the goatie classes for sure.

I am booked the first two weekends in January (Nashville Shakespeare presents Julius Caesar with Eddie George as Caesar! Come see it!), but could do either of the later weekends. That would also give your girl goats time to get everything going good.

I have marked the calendar for the 21st (Wednesday). Where would you like to eat and what time is your lunch break? Mine is pretty flexible. You are downtown by the courthouse, right?

Later in January works for me. What kind of other classes are we wanting to do?
Simple queso fresco doesn't require much in the way of supplies as long as we make the rounds small....we can all take some home.
I can do a class on making wine, processing a chicken or deer (would have to be a last minute get together for this one though), we will be making sausage in January, canning if someone doesn't already know, I have no idea what someone might want to learn. I'm sure between all of us on here there can't be much we don't know.

I don't know where to go for lunch. What do you like to eat? I can take my lunch anytime between the time I start and the time I go home. Got to love that kind of freedom and a non-micro managing supervisor! I'm not particularly fond of greek and japanese. There is a Demo's downtown.
I am off Rosa Parks in north Nashvegas.
Downtown is doable...traffic sucks and parking is a nightmare unless we go early. I am willing to go out as far as Franklin, Smyrna, etc. I need to make it under 2 hours though.

Time to really study what to cull for. Can't wait till the Marans SOP page is done, I am a visual learner so the pics with the DQ's and faults is going to be a great help. Right now I just feel great to have the room and overwhelmed all at the same time

I'm not supposed to do this so we need to keep it quiet

Donna-I have yours already.
OK now for chicken stuff.I'm selling a few bantam cochins a beautiful mottled trio,a rare buff columbian they work with the Milie real well and a bbs pair black and splash. If anyone needs fluff also some silkies. That will leave me witha few real nice bantam pens and some empty to hatch them like crazy this Spring.

Don't know if its OK for me to ask this here or not, but here goes, about the canning classes, I know how to can, but need to know where I can get the gaskets and pressure gauge checked on my pressure canner, is there somewhere that I can do this? Have had the thing for years and never used it, but want to start, I'm afraid that the rubber parts may need to be replaced.

Sounds like a plan, we need to pick dates and make plans

Alaina- let me know the model number and name brand, I will try and help you track them down. The rubber seals do get old and need to be replaced occassionally. I usually buy several when I find them, oil them and seal in a plastic bag.
