Lori~ Saturday will work well for me I have to meet a gentleman at the Pilot gas station @231/hwy40 in Lebanon at 10:00 so after that. Where and what time works for you?

Anne,
I have one that looks just like that. It might be a hen. Still on the fence about it.

Lori- is it from the CJ eggs? I am pretty sure this one is a boy. He has streamers for days on the back of his head. He's either a boy or it is a girl with the largest topknot ever! ACK! He's very vertical too. He turned out really cool looking. I wish he had been a hen. :)

ok donna here they are. one of the blue rocks i think

the maran

black barred rock

blue rock

i think this one was a blue barred rock, notice the yellow on the breast. close up below,

i didnt get a pic of all of them but this kinda gives you an idea of what i was talking about. for instance the black barred's comb is much larger than the blue rocks. just curious what you think i have sex wise.

Anybody with more experience want to chime in on gender? They hatched Easter.

I just started too....I went to the Williamson County Co-op 2 weeks ago and got a Rhode Island Red, Dominique and Easter Egger....this morning I got 2 silkies that they ordered for me. There were no minimums (since I wanted to start small, that was great) Also all the coops we checked out had to be put together. We got our coop there too ...holds 4-6 chicken...and they put it together for us. Easy easy.....they were also very helpful with info.

Once we get the hang of it I'm sure we'll get a larger coop and more chicks! Good Luck, I think you will love your chickens like we do

We probably pass each other at the Williamson County Co-Op. I'm there usually at least once a week.

I've got one extra Swedish Flower Hen rooster left - if anyone is interested. He's really gorgeous. And I'm pretty sure I've got several Easter Egger roos in my grow-out pen. I just sold 10 roos this week, though. So I'm really pleased about that.

Hey Donna, one of the Easter Eggers hatched this afternoon! Shannon said dour more have pipped but two don't look like they are still moving. They were just locked down yesterday morning so it is a bit early. I am wondering if it is too warm in the bator. The temp was spot on and before the egg thermometer broke it was always at 99.5. Hopefully we get a bunch more tonight.

I was just thinking about you last night! Was reading were you left for a month so I didn't post anything. That is great! Mine tend to hatch a day early usually too. Not on day 19 though. They pip for me on the 19th and hatch out by the 20th. I guess... I don't get to watch them that close so I don't really know what day they hatch.

Pics are REQUIRED!

Just in case anyone is looking still.... I am going to thin down. I have 4 Solid Blue Rock Pullets (laying) for sale and I am going to sell maybe 3 Blue Barred Rock Pullets (laying) and maybe 3 Easter Eggers Pullets..... I may have more in a few weeks too. Just PM if you know someone. I am going to put them on CL after the first weekend in May, thought I would let you guy know first.

Pictures will have to wait. For the time being I am living the Army camping life and I can't post pics from my phone. The EE that hatched was named Lacey by my 4 year old and she is still all wet. We have a Lav that pipped another EE and it looks like one of the Blue barred rocks. Kinda hard to tell from the pics. We are excited though. I will do at least one more run with the incubator since Shannon must have a silkie.
