Ok so he was a product of Barred x barred? If so he has 2 copies of the barring genes (only the roos should have 2 copies) so he will pass that on to 100% of his offspring. BUT the roos from that cross will be like a sexlink and only pass the barring to SOME offspring. The green egg thing... does he have a pea comb? If he passes the pea comb to the chicks they could lay green eggs too.....Okay all you experienced breeders who read this... I have a question.
Last year I had a barred cohin roo that bred with a barred LF easter egger. I hatched some eggs from them and I'm left with a LF barred feather legged roo. He hatched from a green egg. He is currently "bossing" 2 pure white cochin hens. Is there a possibility I could get more barred cochins from that mix...that lay green eggs?
So you will get barred chicks 100% and the ones that have a pea comb should lay color eggs.
