I really wish we didn’t have freaking Mareks on the property though so I could just take them to animals shelter or something or put them on Craigslist and not have to kill them 😭😭😭
You have Mareks? That sucks.

Yeah, we do 😭😭 I had to put two birds down from it this spring. And then I think the Leghorn has it now based on what Mare said which wouldn’t surprise me since we do have it here.

That’s terrible! How did it get brought in?

I’m not sure! I think I always had it on property? Or at least ever since I got my first birds, which were vaccinated. These birds weren’t since I hatched them myself so I think my older birds gave it to them? Although Jack lived for months after they died with no signs until he died of I think heat stroke randomly one day but may have been Mareks related anyway? I think he was 8 months old. And his kids show no signs yet either. They hatched this July under a broody from my own flock so that may be why? What’s weird though is Colonel showing signs because she is vaccinated.

Ah she did fine. Gave me the basket and welcome speech right off the bat. The basket was beautiful BTW.
I can't take credit for the basket. @Overo Mare puts those together.
She's pretty much responsible for everything beautiful in my life.

All the vaccination does is mask symptoms. So I would assume that's why she still acts normal.
