Sometimes shows really just want a lot of entries. (Like BYC contests) Even if they aren't good. I know when I showed with the NFSS (National Finch and Softbill Society) we'd basically bring anything that was remotely showable to fill the benches because it showed us supporting the show (every entry had a fee) and even if a bird wasn't in perfect feather, it allowed people to see species they might not have seen otherwise.

Okay. Fair enough reasoning on that.

I might be going to my fair today. I missed the poultry show, but the showmanship winners and grand and reserves should be there still.

My former poultry leader shows (and occasionally breeds) fancy mice. They're the cutest, dumbest things ever

Our state fair is in February and Jackson is 1.5 hours away. If I’m driving that far it will be to Eupora for some BC eggs.

Can you imagine? First of all, who has a cage that big?! And second of all, it would scratch the absolute crap out of the top of the Sante Fe. And third, I'd get pulled over for animal cruelty. lol Those poor birds wouldn't have a feather left. And their crap would be blowing out all over people behind me on the road. lol

I think we should have a network of people throughout the states to transport poultry to BYC members the way some animal rescues do.

I was going 80 mph in a 65 yesterday coming back from picking up birds, and people were flying by me. I was so irritated. I hate that.

I drive the limit. People can either pass me (which they can do, they just wont) or putt along at 45 despite the fact they normally go 65 down my road

It's about an hour away, but some friends want to go to the actual fair too, so imma just drag them there while we're there

I get that. I did the same kinda stuff 30 years ago. I didn’t give a rip about the chickens and cows though. I was there for the girls on the horses and those not on horses too!
