The Moonshiner's Leghorns

5 minutes away? I'm afraid I'd already made that trip.

I can't remember the last thing or time I ate. Wasn't today and I'm not sure if it was yesterday.
I'm hungry now and my boy is requesting turkey bacon so guess that'll be my test food.
Well I'm getting over food poisoning so its easy to remember the last thing I ate. Lol.

Bless your heart! Bacon and toast may be safe. I've never had turkey bacon before. My son has been sick off and on since school started back in August. I have a pretty iron clad immune system from working in healthcare, but I'm sure I will catch one of the circulating respiratory or GI viruses before the year is out, especially as stressed and run down as I've been.

My kid hardly ever gets sick in the summer but ya during the school year it's a whole different story.
Here they really frown on kids missing days but they say don't send them if they've had a fever in 24 hours etc. Mine has a real fear of puking in front of anyone so he doesn't want to go on those days. Once they miss a few days you'll start getting friendly reminder calls.
I guarantee there's parents that send them sick because they don't want to get in trouble. Others probably do cuz they don't have anywhere else for them to go where they don't want to be bothered or whatever. Problem is when others are sending theirs sick all of ours are getting sick. Damned if you do damned if you don't

I hear that. My son has already missed a half a dozen days of school (at least) this school year. I won't send him if he is sick, and if they can't accept my medical opinion and parent note that he needs to stay home, I can pull him out and homeschool him. So far, no one has said anything. He is a smart kid, so there is no worry of him falling behind. He is lactose intolerant and has a sensitive stomach (I suspect he has IBS) so when he is having a bad stomach day, he stays home. Our primary care provider is a friend of mine and would back me on that. I don't want him miserable at school. And he won't use the restroom at school, if you know what I mean. He also had the flu the week before last and missed 3 days alone that week. Poor kid can't catch a break. He is well again now, so hopefully he has met his quota for illness for a while.

Ugh and my brother has the food poisoning. We think we know what caused it now. Frozen chicken patties bought from Walmart out of one of those bunker type open freezers.
Are you sure it is food poisoning and not a virus? Usually the onset of illness is within hours of consuming contaminated food. If the onset of his illness was a day or so after the onset of your illness, that sounds more like a gastrointestinal virus to me.

I was thinking along the lines of salmonella. We've been trying to find foods we have bothe eaten with in a day or so of each other. I thought maybe peanut butter as well.
