The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Thanks for the update! Glad to hear that you and your wife saved the guy!

All's well for me.. One person with the relatives of birds you have was surprised by how well they are laying, one had her rooster go rogue, and one that lives nearest to me lost 3 hens to a dog attack ---

All I have left is two spent hens (Cream Legbars -- age 7 1/2 and 5) and an Isbar rooster who has the best personality of any roo I've ever had -- and I think he is on his last legs...he's approaching 5-years old too -- so maybe his time is about up. Such a great bird though. My pens are sold and a garden is in where they stood....soil that was the floor of chicken pens for 5+ years. Producing quite well.

Hope that things continue to go well for y'all -- and three cheers for your great thread!
You are still a Texan!
Woot!

Omg these are amazing!
Thank you.
Most of my pics are poor quality so they don't do them justice but gives an idea of what can be done if you have a few varieties to work with.
I really need to get a new phone or a camera or something for this year.

IPhone, ouch. I was thinking instead of Wal-Mart's 2nd to the cheapest I could upgrade to their 3rd from the cheapest.:D
That is a great picture and I will be secretly jealous but I also have a reputation and status in my area to uphold.
I could just here the guys when I showed up to the chicken auction and pulled out an IPhone. I'd take some serious ribbing and maybe get run outta the sticks back to suburbia.
I'd also feel guilty spending that much $$$ on a phone. I think for about the same I could get a sportsman cabinet incubator.
I do love the pic. No blurry edges like my phone takes.

Any phone takes pictures better than my device...

You're better off getting a cheap camera than a new phone (for photos).

Something like this Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W830 will set you back just over $100 and take excellent photos compared to a mobile phone, especially the budget ones. Even high end phones can't compare with the 8x optical zoom this little camera has - so you can take photos from a bit of a distance. You don't need fancy stuff like touchscreen and Wifi, just a little camera that does what it was built for. :)

I'm looking forward to receiving my first Leghorn towards the end of this week. Woo-hoo!

I'm pretty technically challenged. If it wasn't for BYC and CL I'd probably still have a flip phone.
Thanks for the link I'll check it out when I get off work.
Truly thank you it makes it so much easier then trying to weed through all the cameras out there when I wouldn't know what I'm even looking at.
