Same here. I've taken to just smacking them with whatever they're hiding under because my birds have decided they're done hunting them now and prefer them to warm up their toes at night.

Is your leghorn obsession a hobby; livelyhood or lifestyle?
Do you own or rent your land; home?
What percentage does your chicken feed represent your monthly budget?
Hope I'm not intruding but your projections are unreal if true.
Trying to wrap my head around it.

Would anyone else like to mention the amount of feed you go through in a month?

Does anyone ever say "Gosh, I go through a ton of feed." ?

Between chickens, guineas, and my pigs I order a ton of feed every 2-3 months. The pigs only get about 200-250lbs of the ton though (I love American Guinea Hogs, I feed them mostly on kitchen scraps).

Why do you keep so many breeders?

Lol, cause I have a problem.
Honestly though I'm working with/on probably 3 dozen different varieties. (Maybe more, IDK) and plans for quite a few more.
So ive got breeders and still a lot of grow outs that I'm feeding ATM.

There are a lot of breeders out there that go through tons of chicks before they get to where they're going and where they want to be.... but eventually they lock in on a few varieties and then they specialize.
That's why I wanted to ask.
What is your end game?
