I worked up a deal for some EE and OE hatching eggs today. I’m working away from home again and this lady is real close to where my weekday camper home is parked. I’ll drop by Friday on my way home so there won’t be any rough shipping issues. She has the fancy French Copper Whatchamacallits too but very expensive. I may spring for those down the road a ways.

My kid is soooo bored with white eggs. I looked at cackles marans and would of gotten some of those buff ones but they've been pretty much always sold out.
Really dark egg welsummers could also be on the list.
For real "colored" eggs I'll probably look into CCLs but I'd only want blue egg layers. I'm not a fan of those green egg laying CCL.

Work may get interesting today. Boss's wife told me they're taking part in some "rock and bike" event. Bunch of biker trash bouncing from location to location and ending here at 2:00.
She said they've never done anything like this and have no idea what to expect. LOL, I do, I was biker trash from way back. I have no idea why this kind of event got linked to a horse Barn but let the games begin.

Could just be from moving them to a different pen and throwing a rooster with them.
either adjusting or doing it out of spite cause those are the eggs I need the most ATM.

My Brown Leghorn hen quits laying for a week everytime we change the rooster. She is finally adjusted the the Silver Ginger rooster and has quit staying up on the roost just today and its been a week. She laid her first egg yesterday after putting him in there.

Sometimes I feel like they do it out of spite. They will pour eggs when you don’t want them and the moment you want to set eggs they close up shop.

I love my Legbars. They lay a pure blue egg, no green. You just have to get some from good stock. My Ameraucana hen lays a pretty little blueish green egg. It used to have speckles when she first started laying but not anymore.

I have a few Marans and Marans crosses in the flock and they lay big brown eggs. I like having all different colors in the egg basket, but the white eggs look just as pretty in there next to the blues, greens, and browns. Without the white eggs, the others don’t stand out as much.

Figured I would grab a pic of the Red Leghorn before they all start dropping feathers. He is looking raggedy. The Leghorn hens were eating his hackle. I hate when hens do that. I hope his tail molts in nicer. He may very well have the ugliest comb I have ever seen. It looks like a saw blade. With a little luck, his offspring will have nicer combs.

He is a lovely color though! The ghost barring is beautiful! (I don’t know what else to call it as I am not well versed in all color varieties). Is that a khaki crele?
