I got a question for the man, too, when he gets a second. Lemon blue OEGBs.

I love them, I just don't really understand the MASSIVE color variation within "lemon blue" as a color. Some look splash, some look lavender, and some blue with gold hackles (my personal favorite). How? Why? TELL ME. Yes, Moony, I'm putting it here in your thread about not OEGBs.

Better of the lavender looking color. I guess I'm just trying to understand what I may get when I start hatching.

Lemon Blues are birchen (ER) with the Cb (lemon) gene and a copy of blue. Mate two lemon blues together and you get lemon splash. But your birds look to probably have a split extended black and birchen base. Some look too solid colored to be pure for ER. @The Moonshiner or @Amer can correct me if I am wrong.

Blue modifies the black on a bird to blue. Blue is black diluted by one copy of the blue gene, splash is black even further diluted with two copies of the blue gene.

Some of them look just like these (but obviously younger). The splashy splash confused me, and I'm not all that smart to begin with. Lol. I'm pretty unfamiliar with birchen so maybe I need to read up on that first. Thank you!

The splash ones are my favorite! Your little lemon splash chicks are so cute!
