So... how much should I be selling my eggs for?

If I sold hatching eggs from rare colors/varieties, I would sell them for at least $75-100 a dozen. It stings pretty hard to pay more than $100 a dozen but I have done it, many times.

I would have a hard time charging more than $100 a dozen for anything, just because there is so much of a gamble involved, especially with shipped eggs. I want people to get as much bang for their buck as they can get.

But I would definitely try to make your chickens earn their keep if you can. I hope to sell a few later on, Lord willing, when I have time.

I think $300 a dozen is insane and even if the birds were worth it, I wouldn’t be able to charge people that for hatching eggs. Especially shipped hatching eggs. I am pretty soft-hearted and I try to be good to people. Which is why I will never be able to make much money raising chickens or turkeys. lol

I have spent 3 whole days de-peopling just to have to go back to work tomorrow night for 3 more shifts and start the whole traumatic process again. Why didn’t I become a veterinarian!!!

An intervention for me may require being admitted to some sort of facility at this point. I will go voluntarily if they have snacks and I can sleep.
