The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Had to add a little water to the Sportsman so while I had it open, I snuck a quick peek.

6 White Leghorn, 2 Crele project, and 2 Buff/Red eggs are developing. So 10 out of 14 eggs. Not too bad for young birds.

Whoa. You could hide a couple of bodies in there. That's like the one that was in this house when I moved here. We downsized pretty quickly to a 4-foot model. That's the one I just replaced with a frost-free upright. We don't hunt or eat red meat so didn't need all that space.
We hunt and eat a lot of red meat, and I need an upright freezer to accompany the chest freezer that is full. My husband barely was able to pack the deer meat from his buck in there, after going through it and removing some stuff. I'm gonna need to put some turkeys in there soon.

Speaking of which, we will be butchering our Thanksgiving turkey on Saturday. An 18-month-old Tiger Blue. Tried so sell him because he is a really nice looking bird, but as usual, people do not want to give any decent money for them around here and give you the run around. So the table for him it is.

🙋‍♂️ X3. I just wasn't gonna be the first to say it.
GMTA?* :lau
Can you guarantee she will be broody at the time to adopt chicks? If she isn’t broody she won’t accept them.
No, of course I can't! (I learned that from Ridgerunner, tee-hee!) But she has a pretty good history that-a-way, so I'm hoping! And if not, no worries, we've hand-raised many a time before. (She's co-parented twice before for me, and she's a great mom, effective but sensible, protective but also low-key.)

Chickens have a code they live by, listen carefully. If you want them to do something, they won't. And if you don't want them to do something, they will. If you want them to live, they are fragile and die if you look at them wrong. If you don't give a hoot about them, they will survive a nuclear apocalypse.

I hope your hen cooperates! lol

That’s facts right there. I stopped naming my chickens and stopped locking them in a coop and they act like they didn’t even need those things in the first place! It’s like my neighbor said about his chickens (kept in the most un-Fort Knox coop I have seen in person) “you can’t hardly kill ‘em!”

Well I went by that sell with the freezer....
🥁............. $700
They did have another smaller one.... marked sold. Two fridges. I would of bought one. Both sold.
A matching tall dresser and long dresser. I would of considered. They were nice.... sold.
Those things were in the pics and I got there 15 minutes after it was supposed to start. This is like the 3rd time that's happened. How do these things get sold so fast? People getting there early? People lined up when they open eager for those items? Or some kind of scam. The stuff's not for sale but the pics of the good stuff gets people to show up?

Oh and anything else I may have been interested in apparently they liked more than I did and the prices showed that.
Has to be friends of the family getting insider info. If they don't want it they let their friends know. An so on.
