The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I have had a panic disorder since I was a kid (childhood trauma), so I know all too well how your panic attack felt, and I'm sorry you had to go through that. I legit had one so bad the other day, I called my husband and told him if I was dead when he came home I wouldn't be surprised. They are scary and the physiological symptoms that accompany a panic attack feel very much like a heart attack. I had to take 20 mg of propranolol and a vistaril before mine settled down.

Glad you are doing better! And it sounds like you are coping beautifully! Praying for you in your convalescence!
Oh wow I’m sorry!!!!!! That’s scary!!!!!! But thank you :hugs I’m trying to LOL

I’m listening to music now.

I took a buspar (the scheduled one) and a vistaril as well actually lol (the PRN). And my inhaler. And just took another buspar with my night meds. I take that one 3 times a day lol

In the winter my house humidity is probably 15-20% and always under 30. I still don’t add water until day 18. Hens in Phoenix, Denver, Death Valley, etc., all hatch chicks with no humidity. But I know plenty of people add water and have great hatches so I don’t know the answer lol.
Local humidity today was 56% so maybe next time I will try a dry hatch.

My docs have tried to write me benzos since I was a kid for my panic disorder, but that has always been my mom's drug of choice so I was always afraid of addiction.

Music is super therapeutic for me too!

Agreed. I incubate nearly dry in the winter with the water pan almost completely covered in the sportsman. My humidity stays around 30-35% that way, and that has been my sweet spot for chicken eggs. Turkey eggs I can go as low as 25% and they all hatch too good as my husband says. lol

I will never watch chicks froth and drown as they hatch again. Problem solved. ✅

As long as you raise humidity during lockdown, you're golden and no sticky or shrink-wrapped chicks.
