The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop- A Role Play

Cam listened hard and took a few more hesitant steps up the stairs. No reply.
A few more. Nothing. Darkness swallowed the steps and she gulped down a lump lodged in her throat. “Where could they be?” she whispered.

Fred slowly followed “where are we?”
Take kept going straight on, his night vision kicking in. He could see how far these stairs went, but there wasn’t any source of light at the top, and he couldn’t see anyone else.
“Maybe they went ahead.. I can’t see anyone” he told Cam. He turned to look at the two, “This tower is probably the last one we have to climb.. hopefully”

Cam felt the hairs on the back of her neck prickle. She didn’t exactly like being followed by Take, not after his outburst. What if she was attacked in the darkness, what if no one heard her scream?
“Uh, I doubt it. I looked up through the sky light when we were in that conservatory and it is literally up in the clouds. Like...” Cam tried to mime the distance with her hands, but they were as dark as the tunnel itself. “Like really far away.”
The lump formed in her throat, reminding her how hungry she was, (strawberries don’t make for a very satisfying meal) how far away from their goal she was... If Kyle and Ryle were gone... that meant they had to go, without guidance. Kyle wasn’t the most reassuring guide but at least he knew what he was doing.
“Where are they? We have to find them. We have to find them,” Cam repeated, her voice crumbling into an unnatural staccato. She paced up the stairs, feet slapping the ground carelessly, her frustration and energy reverberating through them.

Take could sense Cams uneasiness as he walked behind her. He gently placed a warm hand on her shoulder, “It’ll be okay, we’ll find that tiny speck and his cat” he said to her, in an attempt to assure her. He took his hand away and went on past Cam a couple steps.
“Blair? You up here or..?” he said, not sure if she had gone up as well or was down in the hallway still. He was way too focused on handling the boulder earlier to see.

Blair watched in silence from the caliginous corner she was pressed in, on the opposite side of the others, as the rock was broken apart with a number of cracks.
One by one the group shoved their way through the small gap between the rocks, though not noticing her hiding in the shadows, calling for Kyle and Rylie.
A trembling shudder passed through her as she thought of what may have happened to the man and his cat. She didn't quite get along with Kyle, but what scenarios came to mind were ones she wouldn't wish upon anyone.
What if...if he was killed? What will we do? What will happen?
Her thoughts were a whirlwind of panic, barely aware of the cold, sharp stone wall pressed against her back. She was sucked out of her thoughts impetuously when her name was called, and she pulled away from the wall, looking up the stairs. "I'm right here," she called quietly, ascending the stairs as quickly as possible. "Sorry, sorry...where's Kyle?" Her gaze flickered to Take and then to Cam as she joined them, her eyes glowering in the darkness. She feared the answer she would get, gooseflesh rising along her skin from both cold and fear. "What...what happened to him?"

Once Blair joined up with them, Take let out a small sigh of relief.
So it really is Kyle and Rylie who are missing..
He answered her with a shrug, “I don’t know, they disappeared right after the boulder” His face turned into a scowl as he looked up the stairs, “This whole thing is giving off a bad feeling”

Cam flinched as the warm hand touched her shoulder, but it was actually nice in the chilly castle corridor.
“They must be here,” she said, her voice cracking. She brushed the hand away and trotted up the steps, looking wildly around, trying to find... trying to find...

Blair just buried her head in her hands, shaking her head. "They can't have just disappeared," she muttered, though it came out as intelligible, muffled words through her hands.
"What's going to happen?" Blair's hands fell from her face as Fox appeared next to her, his eyes wide. "What if they died? What if we all die?"
"Kyle and Rylie are not dead, Fox. They're just missing. Rylie probably got scared and took off with Kyle, alright? And we're not going to die, understood? That's not going to happen, so quite thinking about it." Her voice was short and cold, and it apparently frightened him even more, if his cowering figure was any indication of it, but it didn't matter. They couldn't be thinking like that.
"C'mon, let's get a move on and find them. They can't be far."

Clary was the last one standing on the other side of the boulder. She watched as the others disappeared into the darkness, their voices getting quieter. She muttered something about not signing up for this and sucked in a breath, turning sideways to squeeze between the two boulder pieces.
As her back scraped against the boulder, Clary’s head was filled with unpleasant thoughts. if anyone pushes this, I’ll turn flatter than a pancake. There won’t be anything to bury. She thought, shuddering.
Just when she was starting to think it went on forever, the boulder gave way and she was free, stumbling over the steps panting. She hadn’t realized she was holding her breath the entire time. “Hold up... I’m coming...” Clary huffed when she saw they were already halfway up the stairs.
She had forgotten the castle was booby-trapped, and only remembered when she stepped on a loose brick, nearly breaking her ankle. Huh, the boulder must’ve been the only trap on these stairs. She thought. “Any luck finding Kyle and his cat?” She asked no one in particular.

“No,” Cam muttered, coming to the place where the stone had come out of. “Dead end not here.” Let’s face it, they’re gone. No one could have survived getting smushed by a several ton boulder even if it wasn’t going at the speed it was.
A tear wandered down her cheek and she ran back to her estimate of the place where the cat and man had last been seen.
Her logical and hopeful sides were having a sissy fight in her brain.
“He has to be here.” Because if he isn’t, you’re toast.

That’s when Cam tripped over a lump on the stone, and began to take the same bumpy, rolling descent as the huge boulder. “Help!” she screamed, arms wheeling. She tumbled down towards the next step, and all her thoughts were was I am going to break my neck.
(Plz somebody save the damsel in distress with awesome heroics.)
