"Tell me about it." Blair muttered under her breath, but watched the exchange with interest.

"Hey, don't worry about it, Kipp," Blair nudged him gently with her elbow, smiling. "We won't let you get lost if it's dark."
Take felt glad that he had someone that shared his struggle and pain of being different, even if it may not be positive.

“Yeah, I’ll help you guys out” he assured, “We gotta stick together.”

"Listen, listen," Fox said softly, refusing to take the rock. "Just take a breath for a second, and calm down." He was trembling from the overwhelming amount of emotion in the room. "I'm not going to try and make you stay here, but you might want to listen to this man."
"Uh.. ok." Charlie said. He noticed the shaking, but didn't say anything. Realizing that Fox wasn't going to take the stone, he brought his hand back and tucked the stone into his pocket.
“Well if you aren't, it’s awful late. It’s about time we saved the world,” Kyle said. “I don’t care where you came from, you were chosen to stop a thousand year curse.”
Charlie stared at him. "Is this some sort of... uh, world hunger meeting?" He asked, wondering what the heck was going on.

"If we're going to be fighting giant bugs and facing some thousand year curse, then yeah, we've got to stick together." Blair nodded, glancing around the shop. Fox and Kyle were talking to another boy, who seemed scared out of his wits. She frowned. Poor thing...

Fox straightened, taking a deep breath to calm himself. "No. Not some...world hunger meeting," he looked at Kyle with a frown. "Explain it so it's easy to understand. Saying he's part of a thousand year curse isn't exactly a clear explanation."

“I’m not sure... I just picked a random one off the tray” she smiled “well then Cam. Just in case you are wondering Sheryl is my 5 year old sister, my mothers favourite. My Dad died 5 years ago in a car crash”
Annie who had finally decided to take a sip of her coffee, choked on it. WHAT? What had Cam asked her to get that response?! I wasn't listening. She glanced over at Cam, who seemed to just roll with it, or maybe ignore it.

Charlie looked back and forth between them with a dumbfounded expression. What?
