The movie Coraline, just some thoughts.

9 deals a lot with death and some parts I suppose would be scary for little kids. My youngest is 8 and he loved it. It has an interesting plot, which most Tim Burton movies do have. My husband usually hates animated movies and didn't like the idea of watching a 'weird' Tim Burton movie, but he even said it was a good one. Just watch the young ones for scary parts.

Nightmare before christmas = loved it
coraline= hated it
corpse bride = hated it
9 = loved it.

ok, i too hate movies that are directed towards children but are for adults. my DH and i saw coraline by ourseves in the theatre. my oldest DD saw it at her grandparents adn the middle saw it with us. neither liked it. i was not happy with the pasties scene and if i had a son i would have been pretty upset if id gone to the theatre to see that.

corpse bride was boring. i fell asleep in the theatre.

9 we just watched it with the middle DD.. she liked it. Dh and i both liked it. So... yeah.

Keep coraline away from me. lol. stupid movie. stupid plot. lol

That is very cool! I probably would run out of the room, I get soooo creeped out by strange looking people. Shopping for body parts, that is funny!

I have never seen any Tim Burton films [I may have seen the Nightmare before Christmas, but I was too young and don't remember] but I kinda want to see 9. It looks really creepy, but also very good. Is James and the Giant Peach a Tim Burton film? If so, I have seen it. VERY STRANGE. But I liked. It left me feeling strange and perhaps disturbed though.

Edited-I looked at his Wikipedia page, and I have seen many of his movies. Edward Scissorhands was awesome! I love that movie. Also liked the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. [Maybe that is because I love Johnny Depp

] Planet of the Apes and Big Fish I also liked. I didn't realize he made other kinds of movies besides disturbing animated ones. Btu my favorite must be BEETLE JUICE!!!!!!!

I just remembered, for those of you who may not dig Burton's darker movies, "Big Fish" is fantastic! It's a fantasy of sorts but also has a lot of realism and is very feel goody without being cheesy. It has Albert Finney, Ewan McGregor(who makes me swoon), Jessica Lange and lots of other big names...
