I make noises with my face hole and it paid for my collij. I suck at reading music because I'm dyslexic, but I have perfect pitch and an eidetic memory. I can hear it twice, and sing it /play it back perfectly. Played trumpet when I was younger though I don't have the chops anymore, still play electric bass, dabble with guitar and piano when I'm bored, and have a very broad and eclectic musical taste. I listen to everything except pop and modern country. They're the musical equivalent of wearing diamonds made out of paste and trying to pass them off as real.

I have been tasked with making a completely original piece.... I've never done this before. It's for a competition. I want to use Garage Band and my instruments for sure, but writing a whole song with lyrics would be really cool... no idea how to start though :,)

Thats really cool, just out of the blue: have you ever played the drums? I've never, although I've always wanted to, it looks so easy, but people tell me its not.. sorry for the random question again

Hmm... a competition..
I, personally, would make a song without lyrics(mostly because I suck at it, and it would be extra work, readjusting the notes to fit the words), but you're right, it would be really cool. Don't know if this is really helpful, but when I make up a song, I just start playing a bunch of chords, and seeing which ones I want for my sing, and then, I turn the chords into the main melody, throwing in a few extra notes, and then the rest just falls into place. But I'm weird that way, so I don't know if that helps at all.
