yesterday one of my leghorns laid a...well look below... on the right side you have the standard large white store egg, the middle is a speckled brown from one of my other leghorns and on the left...is the mutant egg.. now in the bator..

Can you resize the pic? I can't see it as it's too big for the frame.

Edit: Ok, never mind - I see it now. It's a big egg!

My white leghorn will lay one like that every once in a while, couldn't tell you why though.

The egg still tastes the same. I bet It will incubate just like the rest.
 
Double yolker? I haven't gotten any of those yet. Why is your supposed leghorn laying brown eggs?

im not sure why she lays brown eggs...i thought maybe the rooster had somethin to do with it...but nah.. and my other 2 leghorns are skinnier lay those mutant eggs everyday

The tan and white color looks like my golden comets, but they are shaped different. I would post a picture but I can't figure out how.

I've had some pretty strange eggs come from my Standard White Leghorns, especially lopsided ones. My Crevecoeur is difficult because she lays eggs that are perfectly oval, I have to candle them to tell which side to put in "up" in the incubator...and then I have a bantam cochin who lays perfectly round eggs...We just have issues around here.
