Nautulis followed the Captain, silently watching the chaos in the ratlines unfold with mild amusement as she listened vaguely to Vhanya and Tay's interaction.
Her steps faltered slightly as the bedraggled Harpy fell from the air, falling uncontrolled over the side of the ship, barely catching the edge as he did. Nautulis's feet had angled ever so slightly in his direction without a second thought, recentering on course immediately as the new Werewolf arrival rushed to assist.
"Quite the, ah, chaos you've already got sorted out here, yes?"
The siren turned a mischievous gaze on the Captain, smiling carefully.
Her eyes flicked sharply to the movement from the bowsprit of the ship, losing the easy-going glint as she locked her gaze on the Harpy.
"Captain."
Ember landed with a flourish on the quarterdeck, her legs bending slightly to absorb the contact, a single red feather swirled across the deck as she did, resting gently on the contrasting black boards.
"We found one recruit." She pointed a clawed finger at the canine. "Did Coal explain?"
The Harpy's sharp gaze slowly drifted across the three new arrivals, looking them up and down carefully.
Jintao studied the Harpy before glancing back at the werewolf. "That's it?" his disgust slipped out as he turned back to the hybrid. "And a dis-" he stopped himself from finishing and took a step back. Way to go, Jintao, insulting her like that. You haven't even joined this crew yet and you're already talking to it like you've got some authority position in place.
"Sorry," he turned to the side. "That was uncalled for." He looked back at furry creature and frowned. He saw it as a disease alright, and one that was worst than any ratting stowaway that he had encountered. Everything about joining this ship felt wrong to Jintao. He hoped that the Siren would find something to turn the offer down, though with all the Mythics around, he figured she wouldn't.
"Yes, it was," Ember replied coldly.
The Harpy dropped from the quarterdeck to the main deck before the Captain and her three tag-alongs.
"Is this rabble joining?"
Nautulis arched an eyebrow slightly at the Harpy's words but held her tongue. She could already tell by the Mythic's demeanor that she wasn't one to be provoked.
So many questions asked, tones laced with snide malice and brows quirked—beyond the voices, even the varying facial expressions were deafening.
Vhanya had captained other crews that were comparable in disorder to her current lot, but these souls were proving themselves to be increasingly petulant and susceptible to chaos. For order’s sweet sake, and to be able to actually discern what any one was saying, she turned steely eyes to the Siren and her company.
“To my cabin, all three of you.“
Shooing the trio away with a clawed hand, she looked to Ember, “a singular werewolf, eh? You’d best put her in one of the foredeck cabins for now so I can talk to her.”
She added under her breath, “the human girl is tolerable, the other two’ll only be joining if I can briefly manage as a pacifist..”
Vhanya raised her voice and shouted towards the starboard.
“Are you boys done tearing down my ratlines? I want you lot down in the powder magazine to inventory, is that clear?“
Her tail was twitching away a storm below her coat- not stinging the arrogant one-armed pirate had been a great challenge of her character. Maybe he’d be less inclined to deride my ship if it was the last thing he ever saw.
