Quirky Corgi Slowly Backs Out Of Room GIF by ViralHog

For a moment, Tay stared, and her gaze spoke cool acknowledgement. She cleared her throat, and blinked again. "This is a free ship, is it not? I am a free woman, and a member of this crew." Her voice took on a testing quality, "Am I not permitted here?" Wind gathered sticky hair over the woman's eyes, but she did not remove it.
Through embarrassment, Ember fought to maintain the higher ground, even as it was quickly slipping.
"I expect every member of this crew to pull their own weight here. If you aren't helping prepare the ship for the night's rest or for sailing tomorrow, I'd at the very least expect you to be preparing yourself. Not wandering around the main deck like a scouting rat at this hour."
The Harpy lowered her fist, the torch of fire slowly dying.
"On that note. Captain has assigned us to... share a cabin."
The words stuck in her throat. She fought to peel back the layers of disgust coating them as she dragged them forward. It was invaluable to maintain some level of face.
"The first mate would like to see you. He'll likely be in his own quarters."
She found she didn't want a response for fear of losing her composure further. Instead, she turned away from the human sharply, flitting quickly on dark wings to the door of Vhanya's quarters.

@_-Captain BRM-_ (Aye, this was a disaster on my part- I don't know the first thing about Tay's behavior.)
(I'll write whatever happens next after Tay reacts)

"Where the devil are the first mate's quarters," Tay questioned, cocking her head to stare dully at the Harpy's back. Pretension flickered in her hair-strewn eyes. She blinked it back.

(I'm fighting for my life with these frigate diagrams just trying to find which freaking deck the officer's cabins are on 💀)

Ember already had her knuckles lifted to the dark wood door of the cabin's cabin. She inhaled slowly, deeply, before shooting a hard glance over her shoulder at the human.
"Toward the stern of the upper deck. If you are so desperately lost, you can wait out here a few moments and I'll escort you there."
She knocked firmly, cocking her head to listen for a response from beyond the door.
