Through embarrassment, Ember fought to maintain the higher ground, even as it was quickly slipping. For a moment, Tay stared, and her gaze spoke cool acknowledgement. She cleared her throat, and blinked again. "This is a free ship, is it not? I am a free woman, and a member of this crew." Her voice took on a testing quality, "Am I not permitted here?" "The first mate would like to see you. He'll likely be in his own quarters."
She found she didn't want a response for fear of losing her composure further. Instead, she turned away from the human sharply, flitting quickly on dark wings to the door of Vhanya's quarters.
@_-Captain BRM-_ (Aye, this was a disaster on my part- I don't know the first thing about Tay's behavior.)
(I'll write whatever happens next after Tay reacts)
