I've been playing around and put together some more images of disqualifying conformation.

Even if a person doesn't show their poultry, these deformities are genetic and are undesirable in breeding a healthy dual purpose flock. I can put up more if it's desired. edited to add: No copyright infringement is intended. These images are for educational purposes only.

Mumsy,

Wow. The last twisted keel we were just talking about (Delisha and I) via PM. I butchered some boys and a few had this. Care to see?

I don't know which parent is the carrier, but both are just used for making these dual purpose crosses. They are not purebred.

Show results from nationals would have pictures.

Here are some for a regional show we had. I did not attend. It was the same weekend we left to get our gander in Ontario.

Note that the grand champion of show was the breeder of my geese! Jamie's ganders are real lookers.
Awesome pics aoxa, thanks for sharing them.

I've seen that before on a hen I butchered a long time ago. She was an unthrifty bird. I never got chicks from her. Very interesting. Thanks for showing. Nothing like seeing it first hand for learning.

Mine weren't unthrifty at all. I didn't even notice until they were plucked. It was pretty prominent as you can see!
I will check both parents, but have never had any indication that they were anything but healthy and the mother is a wonderful layer.
