Lovely. Thank you that is nicely red striped. now to add it to my ever growing list of birds to buy in the future.

You can market them down home in Indiana as an Indiana mascot bird Every Hoosier fan should have one :D

That is what my visitor was trying to get me to do, once I found or hatched them. Even sell them in Bloomington as IU chickens. I'm almost sure the university would not want a chicken as their mascot. Still if the stripes were fire red like the combs, I'm sure chickens would be the new hit with the college students, after all some of those frat houses would not even notice any smell. I can image the chicken contests now, not fights just contests to see whose rooster would crow the loudest at "bedtime" in the pre-dawn hours.

black is so plain. I totally went for the bright pink for Margaret ;) I think she appreciated it. LOL
I have purple!!! Caesar looks stylish but I think I wrapped it too tight AND she picks at it trying to remove it!!! I had read that if you apply certain ointments it brings the infection to the surface and you don't have to cut it out .... I thought I would try that before I cut into her foot.... but as I don't know how long she has had this (been gone 3 weeks) I'm not sure that is the best decision ... I'll give it until the morning ....

I have the humidifier on fogging the room ... she is panting more and more.... I'm worried... How long did it take for you to see signs of him getting better?? I'm worried that the bumblefoot is weakening her immune system so she can't fight off the fungus or cold..... Please let it work P L E A S E!!!!

Try Listerine and apple cider vinegar soak to get rid of toe fungus, athlete's feet, etc, it also softens your feet and helps remove dead skin and calluses.  Equal parts ACV and listerine to 2x warm/hot water and soak your feet for 30 minutes.  Listerine makes your skin tingle but it feels really great on tired and achy feet.

Tired achy feet. I just might have to try this.

Leah's mom I put hot pink on greens feet with red duct tape. No one bothered her feet but her :)

I was doing fire/EMS stand by at our local fair and snuck down to the poultry barn. The meaties were so hug they couldn't even stand and their feet were HUGE.....they looked swollen they were so large. They looked nothing like the meaties you guys are raising. Not a great selection of hens. Some du lucre, silkies and production reds. I guess the 4-H kids don't like variety? This Sunday after the poultry auction the regular people bring in their poultry. Hoping to see a better variety. They did have eggs on show but no one knew if they show eggs for regular people or not. Hoping they do and maybe next year I can enter Edie's or Sophie's. all they had today was brown, green and cherry reds (they looked more brown to me)

Those meaties.........I felt bad for them :/

Well, the one chick that survived my home made "red neck" bator didn't make it through lockdown. Looked like it never internally pipped. But I set 11 eggs tonight. 4 Buff Silkie, 5 (hopefully)Blue Silkie and 2 layer eggs. My little Blue girl is a laying machine. Has only taken one day off since she started laying. The 4 Buffs are from 2 girls, one is Marsala's.

With her panting, that is not a normal simple bumble foot s/sx. I think her infection may have gone septic. IF that is the case the only thing that could help at all would be fluid bolus and immediate antibiotic and then it would still be very iffy Do you know or think she has a fungal infection? Where??
