we all don't like having one---however, I have had them for 5 years now and this year they found calcium flakes on the left. ---enough that I have to go back in 6 months to be retested.

the grahams pic was great, my daughter didn't think it was but, she is 14, --my husband liked it.

Ooooh! I really want to see pictures! Babies making "babies." At least potential babies. How big are they? The eggs were so cute.

I won't be hatching any till the Spring. Sadly, I feel these are too inbred for my personal standards so I'm looking for a different set of eggs (or roos) to hatch & then breed with my current flock. That should refresh the line properly. Once that's done (come Spring) I'll be hatching their offspring & showing vids of the new chicks for sure.

Size comparison is tricky but here we go: The quail I have are about as big as...a roll of winter socks, or 3 tennis balls, or a large can of soda, or 1qt milk carton...give or take one of those. :)

I have some video of them as teenagers on my youtube channel, standing next to 1/2" wire screen. They've almost doubled since that vid.

Also plenty of photos on my dA page, and more to come I'm sure.^^

red ridge, any updates on the breeding pens? I can see myself and Dh working on something similar next fall. This fall its a coop that is taking up our time.
Roof is on, but still needing to finish from doors and back access...
Furlough is causing havoc with our schedules (not to mention finances) - don't EVEN get me started on that one.

But... hope to have it finished this coming weekend.

I am sorry for posting a controversial topic. My intent was for jocular purposes. I am removing my original post and ask that it not be argued about please.
Again I apologize to anyone who has been upset.

Breast cancer awareness month is October
Right, but why October? Why not the same month as mother's day or something, I don't know, more femininely appropriate... unless they are relating the "fall" of life to when you should start paying (more) attention?
Ve-wy interesting. We've got familial reasons to test (the women in our family), so my mom made me get one about 7 yrs ago to allay her fears. An alternative would be, well, nice. Bookmarked for perusal

Hear you; Jon's VA check is our mortgage... we'll see if they've got it figured out by then.
