The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

I couldn't eat it like my mom made it either. Huge, thick chunks of liver, tough as could be. And not NEAR enough butter. It was only after I was an adult that I tried making it and found that I actually liked it. I was amazed.
My mom loves beef liver, and would sneak it into dishes and we never noticed... She made a goulash with liver and we ate it without noticing, but alone? nope.. I do not like liver..

goodb shared his hawk cover fishing line over on the IN thread.

Any suggestions on breeds? She is about 16 weeks old. Dark legs, wattles, and her comb is tiny and seems straight.

looks like an Australope and gold comet cross
I have an English Project going and I have a few that look like this on occasion. But they are larger and more feathering.

Nothing stands out to me. She could be many generations removed from a purebred.

Where did you get her? What are the options?

My dad got her and a few more chicks from a guy to use as fair prizes

.... I then talked him out of using chicks as prizes, and ended up with them in my coop! The guy had Australopes (my rooster came from him), cochins, BR, WR, some reds but not sure if NH or RIR or what?, I also got a BO, and some Buff Cochins from him. I think he may have had some EE chicks that someone had hatched for him, but they weren't old enough to have been laying yet?

Edited to add: his reds did NOT look like my G.Comets.... they were a deeper red....
