Hello from other threads. I'm from Louisiana.
Welcome! glad you are here!I am joining in too!!!! I am from Northwest, OH!!!!![]()
I mentioned a rooster got out last night didn't I? Got him back in 24 hours later. Bad frost bite. He will lose the tips of his toes (and nails) and much of his comb. He doesn't seem phased at all like Margaret was... When he got on the roost I could hear his frozen toes clanging against the boards. You can feel the difference in the areas that are starting to die. It is cold and the live tissue is warm. I'm not sure how else to explain it.1. I hate when I miss a post because it is posted almost simultaneously when I post. I missed this and then saw the pic on the gallery and thought, who is that?
2. you got nothing on booster for wattle and comb damage. I see pink on the edges here and wonder if will all just heal up. It doesn't look black all the way thru, might just lose some surface skin.
3. Your feed set up, you have a bowl with FF in the dish, plus FF in the space between the bowl and the dog dish? how come?
Your rooster looks so healthy!
I hung a whole cabbage in my coop and my 5 ate it in one day. They pooped cabbage pieces for a week. I ration the cabbage now. I was afraid I overdosed them on it!I just had a wake up call on how much greens 3 hens can eat in a day. I hung a fairly large bunch on Swiss chard last nite. Of course they didn't touch it as it was new and horrifying. Came home this afternoon and all that was left was stems... WOW!
