Rofl... That looks just like me right now... Waiting for the sun to come up for the hike to the barn to check for new lambs. I could take a flashlight, but surely it will warm up another degree if I wait another 30 minutes.

lambs, we need pics!!!

and wasn't it you who had a power outage with day old chicks and the bator going? what happened?

Here, it is -27, with -40 to -55 windchill. poor chickens have been stuck in the coop for days. And I think Booster's comb is a little swollen..will get a better look when it gets light out. I have been supplementing with heat lamps, keeps the temps in the coop close to -5 or around 0.

A neighboor watched the chickens over the weekend for me while I was out of town and didn't take the water out at night, and boy can I tell! might be why booster is looking worse.

I'm so glad I bred my dairy goats to kid late Feb. Or...I may regret it. This might be 'as good as it gets'!

Nasty frigid temps here as well. I ventured out to take my son to work & after warming up in front of the wood stove I am going to make the girls some scrambled eggs this morning with coconut oil & garlic.

They roosted funny last night. One big girl off by herself and Edie on top of the shavings bale (2nd night I found her there.) I put the 2 of them next to their sisters & told them to keep warm. I don't have a heat lamp so the girls need to snuggle to keep warm

I have also been a little concerned about the roost "cake walk" lately. It seems that there is always 1 that roosts by herself as the others won't let someone on. Especially in these temps that concerns me. But so far so good.
