rowerjen.... we can always use another member here to join our big famiglia! Just cuious how long before they stopped laying had they been laying? What breeds are the ones who stopped laying?

Oh, I'm here most every day, just can't keep up with you all! They'd all been laying somewhere between daily and every other day for about a month. My Dixie Rainbow (not a real breed, I know) is still going strong; my BO, EE and Buff Brahma stalled; might have gotten an egg or two from them last week when the weather was warm. For the last 2 days even Dixie hasn't been laying.

Not all chicken breeds do well in the fridget weather. Some do better than most. Most of the egg layers are using the egg machine energy to keep warm. Don't panic, it is normal if they do not lay and use the energy to keep warm. Some breeds just spit them out no matter the weather
