OK I've been bouncing in my seat waiting to get online since yesterday because.......
WE GOT OUR FIRST EGG!!!
When I cracked it open, it looked for all the world like it had the fertile bullseye in the yolk. There was definitely a little dent or something but that would be completely impossible as we have no roosters, The cockerals we did have we rehomed at the end of December and there was nothing going on in that department anyway. Any idea what it was? I haven't opened the second egg yet.
The "spot" will always be there. In an unfertilized egg, it is sort of fuzzy. In a fertilized egg, it is more distinct and forms a bullseye.
Where did you find this? That was taken 2 years ago and was supposed to be private password protected!
They will eat before roosting here and I process in the morning, so they haven't binged yet (for the most part anyway). If I don't feed the birds before processing it is pure laziness on my part if I have separated them. Usually I feed a last supper though, unless it is a .... ready.... spur of the moment type deal.
I don't withdraw feed. No reason for it in particular, I just don'tDo any of you guys withdraw feed before processing your birds?
I do not. Just want to know your feelings on this.
lol, I have my waysWhere did you find this? That was taken 2 years ago and was supposed to be private password protected!
I took 95 chickens to a processor last fall, they wanted the birds off feed for 24 hours but continue to give them water. From my personal experience with the mess of full intestines, i agree.Do any of you guys withdraw feed before processing your birds?
