The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

Wow, Delisha - great setup! I wish I could find a free house or two. Just a free kids wooden playhouse would send me over the moon - LOL. Love that you were able to utilize the second story as a hospital/quarantine area. Looking forward to the pictures of the coop!

Just looking at those makes my teeth chatter!

LOL! So pretty, but I would never survive up there.
I never said I wanted to go out there...just sit by a fire INSIDE and look out there.

Yes, delisha, I am getting two eggs a day. One from each. But, we are afraid to eat them, so we are feeding them to our pyreness.

Tomorrow morning i will take pictures inside the two story

The coop is also a free house..and so is the egg barn

All free houses. You just have to know people who want old houses off the property. They rather have it moved for free than have to pay someone to destroy it and than move the debris.
Call your local construction company's or company's that rip houses down.

All of these houses were from calls made through the years ,except one was a neighboring farm house. The boys just put logs under the house and rolled it over.

We have chickens for the eggs and the meat. That is why we got them. To me and my family, that is what the animal is for. We are also looking to get some milking goats and a Jersey cow eventually.

I really wasn't planning on getting any more chickens. I have nine as of right now and they provide us with plenty of eggs! I'm so happy with them! I would like to let them hatch out some if I ever get any broody hens. But, I will never let the Partridges hatch any. I don't want to take any chances, even if the results are good. It's just too big of a risk for me and I think they are too old also. Don't get me wrong, I love my chickens! We are very fond of them, but we know what we got them for. And so does the rest of our family.

If you don't mind me asking....Why are you asking? (That sounded weird! lol)
