not enough to weighHow much does a sumatra boy weigh once processed?
Yeah not fun.. It's so much quieter now that those 8 are gone. Only two were mating, but they were terrible. Started crowing very young and matured sexually young, but hardly had any meat on them at all. Enough for a meal for 2, and some soup, but really not much at all.

Nature's Nuts Deluxe Bird Lover's Blend. I found it in the wild bird section of the farm store I shop at(assuming you do not have a Wilco in Canada) and there are bags of pumpkin seeds in the squirrel food area.
Are the seeds raw or roasted in that mix?
It doesn't say, but the look raw. Does it matter? http://www.chuckanutproducts.com/store/deluxe-bird-lovers-blend-p-102.html
Here is info from their web site.
Do you find your thighs tough? Still after doing all recommended sitting before freezing (minus brining) the thighs are still a bit tough. Breast meat is delicious and tender. Is it just because I'm not used to any dual purpose birds? Is it because they free range and work up a lot of muscle?not enough to weigh. Not much.... I'll tell you that. Feed 2 good, 3 ok . But I've never thrown one on a scale.![]()
I moved 10 to freezer camp Thanksgiving week. The young men are getting too randy. not good for the girls.
Sumatra Roo's are pretty much the same. Feed 2 well with meat left for a little chicken salad then soup stock. But it certainly is delicious
That's a gorgeous grow out pen!
