My reason for thinking it's a he. Look at the stance and attitude.
It will be interesting to see how "he" turns out!

Thanks, but my coop is needing a cleaning this spring. We save our plastic feedbags from Purina and staple them to the walls in late fall to keep things warmer in winter, since my walls have large spaces between boards. It's amazing how dirty those walls look in early spring, but it works. My mailbox nest is quite popular for the laying hens. I love your chick Thor Sally8--so sorry your others didn't hatch. Congratulations Delisha on your new chicks.

Here are some pictures of my salmon faverolles with their chicks being brooded byone of my ameraucana hens.

Pretty birds! I was thinking about picking up a couple of these birds when they come in next week. Any info you can share about this breed? I know nothing about them and was wondering whether or not I should try these ones out.

DELISHA - Yay for hatching silkies!

I use rubber dishes for my water right now, use glass "casserole" dishes for the fermented feed for both ducks and chickens. I use the rubber simply because they're easy to deal with in the winter with easily dumping the ice blocks and refilling. I wonder if I should use plastic in the summer? I am trying to decide on something different to use for the ducks that would be deeper for them, but still easily reachable. All the buckets seem too tall. Right now they have a rubber bowl and a galvanized tub.
