x2It is hard for me to comment on all that I wish I could. Trust me when I say I read everything and audibly ooo.. and aww... on all the good news and nod my head to all the rest. This is my favorite thread and for sure the greatest peeps hang out here.![]()
That decision is the hard part. The deed is the yucky part. The realization that you provide a service for the health of the flock and nutrition for your family is a sense of ..pride and relief.Today was a rough day for me. I did my first culling. I did a lot of research, asked a lot of questions from several people. I went through the steps, one by one in my head, atleast 100 times. I made peace with my choice a couple of weeks ago. But there is just nothing that truly can prepare you for the process. You just have to do it. I have to admit that once the rooster was culled, the hens seemed to have a peaceful day. I'm still at peace with my decision. So thankful that it's behind me. And now we have a wonderful looking roasting chicken in my fridge.
To hear your names brought tears to my eyes;. Today was emotional for Susan. She has a really hard time with Clem. They were really bonded. More so than Clem and I. Not that I didn't adore her, because I did - but Susan really really adored her.Waiting for these eggs to hatch is like watching grass grow.....I'm so wanting this batch to finish so I can go ahead and move the Fogle eggs into the Genesis.
The first Catdance chick is white. Beautiful and active. Named Clementine. Waiting on the Blue Splash zipping now. I need a Gigi.![]()
There isn't a day goes by I don't think of Justine and Susan's Les farm.
Congrats Justine on Henry. He is adorable!![]()

Saw this today on MPC, and thouht it was a great idea for seed starters, since we all always have eggshells. Fun for the kids, you could let them paint or color the eggs with markers too.
