I wanted to find the University that posted that study about silkies and the higher temperatures. I can't find it. It has to do with the pressure and air exchange. Silkies are delicate and the first two days are critical for development. it requires higher temps in those first two days. Plugs in. Than it requires a temp of 99.5-101.5 and no higher for the next 16 days. They said that all chicks hatch best at 98.8 for the last two days with strong air flow and plugs removed and humidity at 65-70%.
