The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

I use a whole head of garlic in each 5 gallon pail of fermented feed and the eggs of my girls never taste like garlic. Even if they did I season my fried eggs with garlic so it would be no biggie.

I started putting garlic powder in their food, and they don't seem to mind it. I'm a bit confused, though. I read not that garlic is a good all natural way to keep parasites off, but then I also read to keep them away from garlic. That letting them eat garlic makes the eggs taste like garlic.

They aren't ready to lay yet and won't be for a few months. They're also not even outside yet, but I added garlic powder to their food. Also, what is LAb? I saw that someone said their was a video for it, but didn't see the link.
Thanks

It may be an old wives tale as far as chickens go but I know for a fact that cows who eat wild onion or garlic have very off tasting milk.

I hope you all have a great week end. My DH and I have been married 10 years and every year on this day along with Veterans Day, I tell him how much I appreciate all the sacrifices he made. He's now 60% disabled because he did serve. Thank you all.
Please thank him for me, too. I honor and appreciate the sacrifice he-and others- made for us all.
