I always like to see the personalities before naming them.

Or you end up with a female turkey named Bruce...

That's part of the fun. Maybe Bruce just loves her name.

Joking aside, I try not to name critters but when I do I usually go for personality or give a gender neutral. I like to remind myself that there's more than 2 genders out there, so all names are fair game.^^

be careful of letting teenagers name them. my kids named a rooster "peyote", i thought it was a Greek god or something. i was kind of embossed when i found out what it was.

My cousin once named her dog "Poopies"..cause well... XD

the same daughter that named peyote, also had a cat named "dipstick" because it was all white with a black tail (like oil dipstick in a car)

We are getting two new male kittens (barn kittens - keep mice away). and have chosen SuiteCase and LunchBox.

Not like animals care what their names are anyway. Might as well get a laugh out of it.

This is where I got the name SuiteCase from. Hehehe..

I watched a million of this user's videos. The Bald Eagles are so interesting. She seems to have a way with wildlife.

yes peyote is a cactus, mostly known for its hallucinogenic properties I guess. now that I think about it, it did match him well
