The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

If your having trouble learning off you tube and need a person to show you, you might think about your local assisted living or nursing home. There are usually one or two ladies there who could teach you and would love the opportunity to pass along the skill. Or if that it a little intimidating you could check and see if there are any crochet groups that meet in your area, there usually are.

Kassaundra, what an incredible idea. Some of the ladies would be thrilled. I'm old too but I don't know how ( and I don't want to learn)..

Like Linda wrote earlier, that is an excellent idea. I think it would be a great opportunity for some friendships and me learning a skill that I'm otherwise failing to pick up. Thank you for the idea!

Luck was on baby greys side this morning. My mom stopped to let the dogs out for me & found bear (my dog) running with grey in his mouth. She was able to get the chick and put her back in the run. She was acting fine and no visible blood that my Mom could see under all the slobber. When I got home from work I observed them and she was still acting fine. I can't catch the chicks so I just checker her out now when I got home. No obvious injuries that I can see. Feathers are broken in middle,of her back when're the wings come together. Might be some dried blod there but no obvious wound. I touched and she didn't act like it hurt. So I'll just observe her now. Hopefully they will stop jumping the bpveggie garden fence. I have no idea how she got out into the yard. The babies don't fit btw the holes in the fence anymore.

So,glad my mom noticed the dog had the chick,

X3

cull the eggs and that chick..
anything could have happened..glad the coon was dead..we have a skunk visitor every night lately...glad they don't kill chickens.

Hi Mumsy!!!

I know it has been a while, I am so very darn busy this time of year. Show season keeps me on my toes. I am going to Ohio Nationals this year...any one else going?

They can and do.

Whew. Close call on that one!

@Kassaundra That is really, really bizarre, and so it is beautiful.

OT, the new season is right around the corner! I just started re-watching season seven last night. :-D
I've seen all the threads for them, but it's still worth mentioning that I want to build a TARDIS coop some day. Maybe for my daughter's hypothetical future flock of silkies.
