The Never Ending Hatching thread! For those of us that hatch all year long!

Oooooo! I want Welshies & Scovies!!! Wanna swap eggs

I would love to do an egg swap but at the moment I only have 1 WH girl laying, so I set 7 eggs at a time. I only have two 'scovys and one looks like she is starting to set the nest they have both been laying in. I'm not sure if the other hen will make a new nest or keep laying in this one; I have to watch over the next few days and see what happens. But send me a PM so i dont' lose you, and we'll see what we can work out.

I got a little too excited at an animal swap and now have 23 Chinese Goose eggs in my incubator. I am insane. And terrified. I have such a funky selection in there right now, Isbar, Swedish Flowers, Salmon Faverolles, black Austrolorps, Sizzles, Swedish Blue Ducks, and 23 giant honking goose eggs. And am adding call ducks eggs, giant Cochin eggs, and more sizzle and Swedish blue eggs tomorrow.

Oh, lovely thread!

I'm in the middle of a hatch of BBS Ameraucanas. Turkeys go to lockdown tomorrow. I'll have Barnevelders coming up soon, and Golden Cuckoo Marans, followed by Blue Cuckoo Marans and BBS English Orps. And I'll be adding Welsummer and button quail eggs next week.

love to hatch!

How do you get blue cuckoos....  ???
I wish I knew! I got the hatching eggs from someone else. It's actually a cuckoo/blue cuckoo mix, so it'll be recessive and I should have regular cuckoo, blue cuckoo and splits.

If I remember right, it's done by crossing a blue bird with a barred bird. After a couple generations being bred back together the blue shows up WITH the barring.
That makes sense. Thanks!

Ah.... OK.. I have blues and I have just one cuckoo girl maybe in the future i can cross them... it would be fun..

But: i just finally found my Rooster Twizzler to be fertile and i have this new GQF 1502 that i have been sitting on my hands with... I guess it's time to hatch some of my own eggs... I am so excited i can hardly stand it :)...

I just set 74 last night; Muscovy & Welsh Harlequin ducks and 47 chicken eggs; these will be easter eggers and olive eggers.

Ooooooh, look there's room for a few more....
