The Never Ending Hatching thread! For those of us that hatch all year long!

They are a mix of different layers covered by ee & legbar roos. They lay a rainbow of colors & chicks are all different. They are still too little to sex so would be straight run. Roos can always be rehomed or processed.

Zipping = It's what a chick does after he has pipped. He starts poking holes in a ring around the round end of the shell with his egg tooth so he can use his legs to push it open and get out.

Hey y'all! Finally getting back in the swing of things after 4 moves this year. Flock got decimated between moves dogs coyote and 2 psycho landlords one poisoning them the other shooting them out of spite. So with only a handful of turkeys a trio of african geese and 4 ducks left its back to square one. All the moves bout bankrupted us. So yeah that's it. Trying to start over but yeah being broke is deff going to make this slow going. Think what makes me the maddest of all is this last round the whole meat flock destined for the semper fi foundation and wounded warriors. That really gets under my skin in a bad way. Anyways, good to be back. Semper FI

I lost a bunch of chicks & several ducks in my recent move. To be expected when moving with a bunch of snow on the ground & temps in the teens. Myy losses were bad enough but to lose everything to a couple idiots I would be after some heads. What is wrong with people??? Obviously they knew you had these animals before renting to you! I had a landlord where I just left who put in my lease I was permitted any poultry I wished & then threw a fit because I had "more babies in the brooder."

They'll get what's coming to them. Guessing it will be back to running fence wire tomorrow... 6 strands of hot wire 4 barb. Anything wants in its going to have to get passed 16KV on the lines.
