10/21/2012 Chaper 8: Mealworms!


Last Night was very cold, so the Buffingtons had turned on the heater to stay warm.


Lady Chipmunk started out the day by jumping onto a couple of haybales.


And jumping off.


Then.... She saw the MEALWORMS!


She was so excited, she flew onto The Little Giant's (let's just call me TLG) shoulder. (AND PECKED MY EYE!)

Of course, TLG spilt all the meal worms with surprise, Lady Chipmunk jumped off her shoulder. (SHE PLANNED IT!)
So they all got a DELICIOUS Breakfast of mealworms!

(10/27/2012) Chapter 9: Storm Preparaions

The sky is gray, a hurricane is coming! (We weren't very close to the center, we just got rain and a bit of snow)



The Buffingtons knew they had to stock up before the power and water went off.
So first, they cleaned out their water dish and filled it up.


Then they filled up their feed dish.


The Buffingtons thought about what else they could do. They decided they would make an extra special snack! Lady Skye and Lady Eggnog put grit inside a dish, and Miss Q Put in some Oyster Shells and Cracked Corn,Lady Chipmunk and Miss Hershey put in a bunch of meal worms.They mixed the snack until the meal worms looked powdered.

The Buffingtons fluffed up their feathers with pride as they stared at the delicacy they had prepared. Then, They couldn't stand it any longer! They quickly began to eat it.

(11/21/2012) Chapter 10: A Warm Winter Day



Today was oddly warm. The Buffingtons were so happy, because they could spend the day in the chicken tractor!


The chicken tractor has everything The Buffingtons could possibly need, it had shelter on one end, lots of room for them to eat grass.
It also had a kitchen in it! (Wooden board so they don't step on their food, of course, they do it anyway

)


Today was so special, that they made a yummy snack to celebrate! They they mixed non fat plain greek yogurt (It supposedly helps stop diarrhea, which Q and Skye have badly) and mashed carrots together.


It looked delicious, and The Buffingtons dove in.


Soon, The Buffintons had white beaks!

(11/26/2012) Chapter 11: Blueberry Jam Time!

Today, The Buffingtons made Blueberry Jam.


It was delicious! The Buffingtons dove right in!


Chipmunk was eventually pushed away by Skye, who pecked her in the eye!
So she went to the original bowl that the jam had been in before The Buffingtons had put it on the plate. She snapped up the jam happily.


Soon she allowed Hershey (who got pecked at by Eggnog) join her.

Q looked jealously at the littler Buffingtons, They got to eat without being bothered by Sky and Eggnog! (they pick on EVERYONE!) she stomped over to them and began to peck at Hershey.




Chipmunk Glared threateningly at Q.




Q meekly walked away.
