My chicks from Ideal came in today- the postmistress called just after I put the kids on the bus, which was perfect timing since I was just finishing up the pigs' morning visit.
All 25 arrived alive and looking good- everyone is settling in nicely, it seems.
Here a just a couple of pics- I'm really having too much fun watching them!

They are adorable. Congrats!

And a tip on the waterer. In a week, they will be kicking shavings into the waterer. Take 2 2X4 pieces and put them wide side down on the shavings, then put the waterer on top. (I use 2 so it's stable and won't tip over and squish a chick) It will keep most of the shavings out of the waterer.

Enjoy that wonderful cuteness! Last night my daughter remarked how ours are growing so quickly & I told her I knew another "chickie" who grew very quickly, too!

I agree - I did the same except that Iused a 1x4 and elevated it on 2 tuna cans. The chicks had no problem reaching the water at this level. As they grew, I increased the height of the cans that elevated the 1x4 so that by the time they were four weeks old, it was sitting on two 15oz cans.
