The new coop

All that's left to do is make the gate and put up the shade canopy, the ladies had there first night in there last night, I had to show them exactly how to roost since their prefab didn't really have much for roost bars but I think they dug it

The run looks so tiny, lol... it's 146 sqft and bigger than their old one by about 40 sqft, but just seems tiny

And here's a terrible picture of my attempt at building a ladder with 2x3's for the sides and cut beaver sticks for the rungs (with chicken for scale! )

I move it here and there from time to time to see how they do with different angles but I could provide some actual measurements if you want. They often climb it, or choose to skip rungs. The Lavender Orpington, as the biggest and the one I was worried about the most, naturally prefers to leap off the top.

I ended up doing a ramp cuz that's what the hubby wanted, it's covered in roofing from an old dog house, lol, the heavies use it, my WTB just flies up and down, but ty I appreciate that

I built a ladder for mine.

ended up doing a ramp

I had a ramp up to my roost. One of the girls like to sit on the very top of the ramp for her roosting spot. She ended up with a butt full of poop stuck to her. I took the ramp out, lowered the roost about 5", and she didn't get poopy butt again.
