The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

I mailed the last batch using large box flat rate which I think was a waste. $21 to ship.:barnieit also took 3 days which was disappointing.
It has been rough. I had a priority mail flat rate envelope take 16 days to go from New York to Missouri. It was mailed January 6 and took 8 days to get to Indianapolis. Then another 8 days to go the next 250 miles to St. Louis. Pony express would have been MUCH faster. :he
I last shipped chicks on November 1. Express mail (fastest available) of live animals took 3 days to arrive. Miraculously, they arrived alive but apparently some died in the ensuing few days.
I've been reluctant to sell eggs or chicks till this straightens itself out.
16 days for a priority package of eggs wouldn't result in any hatching.

Often raise the temp wil allow more to hatch
On the contrary. Raising temperature above proper incubation range is the easiest way to kill embryos. Add to that the fact that beginning after day 10, the embryo begins to produce a bit of its own embryonal heat with increasing metabolism.
So if any temperature adjustment is indicated, dropping the temperature slightly as hatching nears would be necessary to remove some of that heat. Perhaps a half degree or so on day 20.

Actually my new Borotto Incubator says that at hatch time to lower temp .5*c

I've wanted to try one. How do you like it?
Love it so far. It is really set it and forget it. I got it with the humidity pump.
The egg trays are the best. You can set anything from quail to goose and not change a thing.
