The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

Or someone sharing a computer and didn't realize someone else was signed in.
I thought the same thing-- we need to be careful about thinking the worst of people-- it is not usually what we think it is. Didn't we just go thru this ??

I would like for my son to have a BYC acct but now I'm concerned I will get bashed or he will for using the same computer. THis isn't friendly folks.

Ok to clear up some confusion....I am not ark 81, that is my sister. She saw where it was asked to see my adults. She posted for me because I was cooking dinner. She told me she posted some pics...I looked and said that it showed up as her so she deleted them not thinking that it would have everyone start jumping on me. Yes those are my birds she took them off of her profile because I was cooking and couldn't get to my comp.

And yes I know what an easter egger is...have some of those too. But what was pictured are my americaunas, at the time of the pic they were running together, I do that during winter so they can have a break. I seperate them for a month and then check fertility-then sell pure eggs.

So I hope I cleared up any confusion on my part...sister was not trying to cause problems just helping me out.

Ameraucanas-- this is a tricky breed folks.

Easter Eggers are my preferred title for my hatchery stock, which are not bred to anything else just not bred to the SOP just for muffs and pretty eggs, which I love.

Ameraucanas-- some are bred to the SOP , some are project birds. You can ask a breeder about the details of their breeding project and find out what you need to meet your needs.

I personally have been breeding a Blue Ameraucana, from blabh-blah, and crossing to my easter eggers. Have a second blue to breed to the resulting girls. Because of the hatchery stock I call them Easter Eggers and enjoy their muffs and blue eggs. THe Blue AMeraucanas I have are well bred, and hefty boys. My EE girls tend to be much slighter which suits me fine as egg producers. THis is my blue Am project.

Many varieties are not APA listed. Doesn't make them invaluable. I have auburn turkeys-- supposedly as old as the hills but never APA recognized. Blackcopper marans-- only recently APA approved.

Clear as mud??

I agree! my birds are pure, they are not from a hatchery. I know there is a lot of mislabeled birds that come from the hatcheries. I bought my birds from a local here in Arkansas. my daughter is just now getting into showing...I try very hard to breed as close as I can to SOP but I've not shown these particular birds before.

the eggs are a very light blue...my birds have tufts, my birds have slate blue legs. I've not had any complaints on my birds, they are some of my best hatchers. I have had very happy customers and very happy bird babies.

Now that everything is cleared up. What variety or color do you breed? Or do you have some type of project?

To piggyback that, where have you sold? I'm asking back it shows you joined 7 days ago and have 24 posts. Just wanted to know where I can find feedback. :)

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the buyers and sellers on this thread.

I know for a fact that many of the sellers need to sell eggs to keep their birds fed, and this is short auction format is a great boost.

Also buyers are getting some awesome eggs. Beats then becoming chicken food

Thank you also everyone for being SOOOO nice!!

Ok Folks back to the auctions!

I am confused, again. I thought BBS stood for black, blue, splash. Ameraucans do not come in splach or lavender according to the APA So many people just laughed at the other person for making a mistake and then she got blasted. I appreciate accuracy in the description as well but where is the list of breeds and acceptable colors allowed on this site? I have seen a few people put up their homemade colors and call it a rare version of a breed. I couldn't find this addressed in the rules. I have not sold anything but eventually I'd like to and I certainly wouldn't want to make a mistake after what I just read. Knowing the rules will help prevent years of therapy to gain back my self esteem.
(If she listed it as Amer'i'cana and the hatcheries sell them as Amer'i'cana, wouldn't her post have been accurate, since she did not call them Ameraucana? Just asking.)

So here is my question- what exactly is accepted and what is not when it comes to breeds and colors?

Having said all of that, I am bidding on Wolftracks Ameraucans $15. The splashes are my favorite.

He's not a splash, but this is an 11 week old cockerel from a local hatcher. She's bought eggs a few times and she has this guy up for sale. I asked if I could use her pic, so thought I'd let you see what you should get from these eggs.

my birds are a brown/red, and buff. I haven't done a lot of business on here, mostly just with the locals in Arkansas. I've been kept very busy in my own community with selling birds, hatching eggs, etc. I wouldn't be able to offer you any names of people from here that you can check with. I just started on here so I can expand some...business is still booming but a lot of folks around here are basically done with hatching-and I can't nor can my family eat this many eggs.

I have a lot of different breeds....I donate a lot of my eggs to our local food pantries here but my birds are laying machines so i'm starting to get overloaded. I only have so much room....I wanted to offer these eggs to others that hatch all year round or are still hatching. I hope that I've answered your questions..
