The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

Thread House keeping notes

1. Please when bidding do not include more than one picture when cutting an pasting the original add. Cut and pasting [just] the details is excellent as then we all know exactly what you are bidding on. If you are bidding on one of a multi auction offering there is no need to include the pictures of the eggs you are not bidding on. It just takes a teeny tiny bit of effort to just select only what you are bidding on THANK YOU!!!

2. Please could sellers (or any motivated thread member) if possible update the status of auctions only within the last hour before it ends. This is especially helpful for multi auction offerings and popular auctions. On the other hand no need to do this every 10 minutes. Once in the final hour is ideal.

3. There are super eggs and offerings being made. Beware of snipers if you really want something.

4. To recap, If an auction ends at say 5:00 PST any bid placed with a BYC time stamp of 5:00 is valid. 5:01 is not.

5. Thank you everybody for making your thread run so well.

6. Have fun!!!!

Wanted to re-quote this post from Phage from a while back, as a friendly reminder. I did correct some grammar though.

32-Hour Auction

10+ Isbar/Crested Cream Legbar Hatching Eggs

Starts now and ends on Wednesday May 21st at 5pm PST

Shipping $16

Bid Starts at $5

This auction is for a little side project I'm working on. I have my Isbar rooster in with my Crested Cream Legbar hens. All of my hens are crested and beautiful color, body shape. Since I'm waiting for a new CCL rooster, I thought I would put my Isbar rooster in and see what color eggs I get. I get about 8-10 eggs a day from them and have PLENTY of extra to share. I'm hoping to get some crested Isbar colored birds and very curious about if the blue egg gene or the green egg gene will be dominant. Should be fun and come out with some pretty birds!

I like to pop in from time to time to see what up on the auctions. Would it be possible to post where the eggs are coming from? shipped eggs are a gamble I know but I have better luck when they are coming from certain areas I think.
Thanks

I'm going to be unsubscribing from this thread for a while. But it's nothing negative from/about/to any of you.

I just lost my main roo this past Sunday, (full story HERE) and it's affecting me a lot more than I thought. I really am feeling kinda hopeless about my flock right now. I go outside and just wait to hear that long, echoing crow. But it never comes. I never thought I'd get so attached to a chicken, but I guess I did. He was "the man" here, and now he's gone. It has been a VERY hard blow to me and my flock - maybe more so to me.

Add to that the fact that I haven't had a single shipment from McMurray Hatchery that has survived yet this year (despite all of them being vaccinated) and I just feel like I'm "done" for now. I'm going to step back and invest in some spring traps for foxes/coyotes, clean and re-bait my cage traps, and work on building more secure predator-proof pens where my chickens can actually be properly and safely separated by breed. I've also got a neighbor stopping by in the morning, who works for the Georgia Poultry Lab, taking several of these chicks in for a necropsy (which they do free of charge). I'm going to get some answers, and I'm going to get that f****** fox taken down right now. Hopefully I don't become so depressed about it that I give up on chickens entirely. But for now, my focus will shift.

Good luck to all of you and your hatches!
