The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

I would like to comment on he anti Alaska sentiment. Those of us haunting an Auction thread are CRAZY enough to have house chickens in diapers! The distance is not a problem. I just hatched 7 out of a dozen of Boggy Bottoms D'anvers. I have 8 of 8 turkeys from Mass developing. I have hatched a few 100 quail from LA. Thank You to everyone who includes us adventurers!
Well what do you expect from peeps that have never lived here.
Can you find us on a US map..? Most think ALASKA is in the south pacific with Hawaii.... NoT really folks..

Mail service is just as reliable in Ak than the current service you guys get.....( except when the postman looses a dog off the team)

Let exclude Alaska & Hawaii..because we are illiterate as how are FEDERAL GOVERNMENT sponsered shipping works.
It is fast...If you PEEPS in the lower 48 would take a second & think about it. Buyer pays shipping.
I have sent thousand of dollar of Marine corals to all parts of the US...All off of ebay.
I was shipping water..with heat packs...If I can ship corals to New York,Florida,Hawaii. With great success. Then I know its possible to ship some eggs to Alaska.
I also want to say Thank you,to those who do not have a shipping hang up with the 49th and 50th state.

Quote: Just curious, though, does Alaska have strict regulations about shipping eggs in like VA and HI do (must be NPIP with special paperwork)?
Most states have regulations on the books that talk about NPIP certification requirement for importing hatching eggs, but there is very little enforcement as far as I can tell.

This list was compiled in 2010 by the American Bantam Association--(under news on their website: http://bantamclub.com/site/ ) I did not go back through and spot check for accuracy and the list is 3 years old:

Alaska:
*** POULTRY & HATCHING EGGS *** Birds from the Exotic Newcastle Disease quarantined areas need an Alaskan permit number.
1. Poultry and hatching eggs imported into the state must be accompanied by a permit and a health certificate which includes certification that:
1. the flock from which the poultry or hatching eggs have originated tested negative for Pullorum and Typhoid disease;
2. the poultry or hatching eggs were produced in full compliance with the National Poultry Improvement Plan; and
3. the poultry or hatching eggs originated from flocks or areas not under state or federal restriction.
2. The applicable National Poultry Improvement Plan forms must accompany the shipment.

If you are NPIP and send out a form with your shipment and do not completely follow the regulations you will be notified and/or can be charged. I think it is a misdemeanor in most States.

Just got around to getting better links:

Here is one to USDA-APHIS, anyone can go down an click on your state and search for what the requirements are for importing hatching eggs into their state:
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/animals/animal_import/animal_imports_states.shtml

Specifically for hawaii, since it was brought up:
http://hdoa.hawaii.gov/ai/ldc/importing-livestock/birds-and-poultry/
You can import in to Hawaii but they are very aggressive about biosecurity and all the forms will need to be just-so. I saw that at least one of the major hatcheries will ship there and it looks like Hawaii has a clause that allows a hatchery to designate a specific person on their staff to act as an agent so that they don't have to work with an accredited vet for heath certificates.
