About our Basque Euskal Oiloa
We have owned Basque since 2011, The birds you see in the photo are the 3rd generation raised on our farm. Our birds come from James Meeks of Skyline Poultry. We had our first ever 100% hatch rate from shipped eggs which to me is a great indication of a lines health and vigor.

Since we acquired the birds, we have been selectively breeding for correctness. We hatched over 100 Basque in 2013 and chose the 10 we are using as breeders this year. All of our breeders have yellow legs and good coloring. Our breeding goals include breeding birds with broader chests and wider backs.

Basque are an ideal breed for both breeders and backyard enthusiasts. For starter, Basque eggs seem to ship and hatch better than many breeds. The egg shell quality is excellent. Basque have friendly calm temperaments and the hens lay large brown eggs and are non-broody. Basque are not auto-sexing, but by 3-4 weeks you can begin to discern the boys from the girls based on body color.

About Our Bresse:
We acquired 12 eggs and hatched 10 birds in May 2013. The breeder (Chiquita) we purchased our eggs from got her breeding stock from Green Fire Farms. Of the 10 eggs that hatched, we ended up with 7 girls and 3 boys. We chose the biggest and most robust 4 pullets and 2 cockerels as our breeders.

I had heard Bresse were indifferent with people, but that has not been my experience. I find them friendly and curious. I have limited experience with the Bresse, but so far I have been very happy with them.

Bidding starts at $30, Shipping is $16

Just wanted to update on this auction that I won. Received 8 eggs and all 8 have hatched. Couldn't be any better than that. I was sure after candling yesterday, that one was not going to hatch .... but I was wrong. It's the last one and it has pipped and zipped. Just waiting for it to finish now. :weee

Thank you so much for posting this, I always love hearing shipped eggs hatch well!

12 Sulmtaler Eggs + extras!
This auction is for eggs that were collected within 3 days. Eggs will ship on Friday February 7th assuming payment has been received.

Bidding starts at $60, Shipping is $12

About Sulmtalers

Sulmtalers are a rare dual purpose Austrian breed renowned for its extraordinary meat quality. I have found these birds to be a delight. They are a bit shy as first, but once you get them treat trained they become quite pesky and always under foot. I guess you could say they are fairly food driven, but unlike hybrid meat birds they are not consumption hogs.

I have been very happy with their egg production, shell quality and hatch ability. I have owned Sulmtalers for 2 years and have not had any go broody yet. I reduced my breeding flocks to 8 breeds, and the Sulmtalers were on the top of my list of one of the breeds to keep.

Here is your opportunity to acquire some Sulmtalers Hatching eggs for a fraction of the cost of purchasing chicks. If you search for Sulmtaler chicks you will find that they typically sell for $100 per chick straight-run.

Here are a few photos. You can see lots more photos of our birds on our website.
